Located just about 5 minutes from downtown Hatyai is a lovely Spanish-inspired garden mansion or resort called Weenee Boutique Resort. The resort is very well sheltered from the outside world with its large gate and garden fences. Driving through its gate seems like bringing you to a totally new place where you see lush greeneries, big trees and blooming flower plants.
Checking in is quick and simple with their courteous staff and a lot of time you will actually see the owner of the resort manning the front office.
I stayed in the 37 sqm Deluxe King Room with Poolview on the 1st floor and the room is very cozy and comfortable. The cement walls are finished in a terracota-clay like while the floors are part painted cement and part tiles. The king-size bed is comfortable and positioned in an angle that gives you a lovely view of the pool.
There is a small vanity corner as well as a small work space in the room, accompanied by a small pantry like area with a full size fridge. There is also a LED TV in the room and a small balcony overlooking the pool. Complimentary WIFI is available throughout the resort.
The bathroom is simple; finished in a mixture of cement, tile and rocks which gives a very European feel to the bathroom. Uniqueness of the bathroom is while showering, you do have the option of the usual shower head or a waterfall like shower flow.
Although the resort is not big, it does come with facilities. There is a nice swimming pool with Jacuzzi as well as a small fitness center overlooking the pool.
The resort has its own kitchen if you chooses to dine in and for breakfast you have the options of ordering the American or Thai breakfast (ala-carte). You can also choose to dine indoor or poolside, which of course I took the poolside table. Food here is tasty and delicious.
I would strongly suggest the Weenee Boutique Resort for a romantic gateaway but it is also good for business or leisure travel. Room rates for weekdays starts from 999 baht.
