Kuala Lumpur – Malaysia’s premier custom and counter-culture festival is set to return bigger than ever as Art of Speed (AOS) celebrates its 15th anniversary with a massive expansion that blends automotive culture, live music and lifestyle into one immersive weekend experience.
Taking place on 1-2 August 2026 at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS), this year’s edition carries the theme “Summer Festival – Kustom Bergaya”, promising an unprecedented showcase spanning more than 452,000 square feet of indoor exhibition space alongside 320 acres of outdoor activities.
More than simply a car show, Art of Speed has evolved into Southeast Asia’s largest celebration of custom culture, attracting builders, artists, collectors and enthusiasts from across the region and beyond.
International icons from Japan, the United States, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei and the Philippines will headline this year’s event. Among the biggest names are Liberty Walk founder Wataru Kato, MOONEYES representatives Emi Suganuma and Michihisa “NATQQ” Shinotsuka, Hot Wheels Premium Lead Product Designer Ronald Wong, DicE Magazine’s Scott Walker and numerous renowned custom builders and artists.
One of the biggest attractions will undoubtedly be Liberty Walk’s first-ever official participation at Art of Speed, accompanied by an international display of custom cars from Thailand and Taiwan alongside rare Harley-Davidson custom motorcycles from Japan, including a 1945 Knucklehead and a 1966 Shovelhead.
For motorcycle builders, the return of the prestigious AOS Invitational Build-Off raises the stakes once again. Eight of Malaysia’s finest custom builders will compete not only for cash prizes but also the coveted opportunity to display their winning creation at the 34th Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show in Japan later this year.
Collectors are equally well catered for as the 4th Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia returns with exclusive activities, exhibitions and the launch of a limited-edition Nissan Skyline GT-R V·Spec II (BNR34) collector model featuring official Nissan licensing together with Motul and Yokohama branding. Ronald Wong will also meet fans during the event.
Lifestyle remains a defining pillar of AOS. Hall D introduces expanded attractions including Gravel Travel for cycling enthusiasts, Kulture Kartel for vintage fashion and streetwear lovers, while the outdoor ThunderCircus continues to unite motorcycle communities from around the region.
Music fans can also expect the largest SoundCircus Festival to date, featuring six stages across MAEPS with performances from Ella x Cokelat, Sheila Majid, Nadin Amizah, Hujan’s 20th anniversary celebration and a host of regional performers over two days.
Visitors will also enjoy interactive attractions ranging from motorcycle test rides, an automotive flea market, exclusive diecast launches, food and lifestyle zones, plus Asia’s first Flying Fox experience across a live concert audience.
Festival Director Asep Ahmad Iskandar described this year’s edition as the fulfilment of a long-held ambition to create a world-class festival combining automotive lifestyle and live entertainment, while highlighting Liberty Walk’s debut as a significant milestone for Malaysia’s custom culture.
As Art of Speed enters its 15th year, AOS 2026 looks set to reaffirm its position as one of Asia’s leading custom automotive festivals—where craftsmanship, creativity, music and community converge under one roof.
