Saturday night at Sepang is about to get a whole lot louder, with global electronic music star Axwell confirmed to perform live at the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026.
The Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026 is adding another major name to its entertainment line-up, with Grammy-nominated DJ and producer Axwell confirmed to perform live at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit on Saturday, 3 October.
The announcement was made by Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and Sepang International Circuit (SIC), adding another major attraction to a race weekend that will combine Formula 1 action with a series of high-profile concerts.
Axwell’s performance will take place on Saturday evening, while multi-platinum-selling electronic music superstar Martin Garrix is set to headline the post-race concert on Sunday, 4 October.
The two-concert line-up gives fans another reason to make the trip to Sepang for the one-off Formula 1 weekend, which runs from 2 to 4 October 2026.
For race-weekend ticket holders, access to the concerts requires a separate upgrade. Fans who purchase their weekend race tickets by midnight on 8 September will be eligible to upgrade their tickets from 9 September.
The Axwell concert upgrade is priced at US$50 per person, while the Martin Garrix concert upgrade costs US$100 per person. Each concert requires a separate upgrade ticket.
Availability will be limited due to venue capacity, with upgrades allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Upgrade instructions will be sent directly to eligible race-ticket holders by email.

From Swedish House Mafia to Sepang
Axwell brings a heavyweight electronic music pedigree to the F1 weekend.
The Swedish DJ and producer began his recording career in 1995 under the name OXL before establishing himself as one of the world’s most sought-after remixers. His extensive remix catalogue includes work involving artists such as Usher, Clipse and Faith Evans, NER*D, Pharrell, Nelly Furtado and Madonna.
He later became globally recognised as one-third of Swedish House Mafia, alongside Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso.
The group earned consecutive Grammy nominations for Best Dance Recording with Save the World in 2012 and the platinum-selling Don’t You Worry Child in 2013.
Axwell subsequently formed Axwell Λ Ingrosso with Sebastian Ingrosso, producing a string of electronic hits including Something New, On My Way, Sun Is Shining, I Love You, More Than You Know and Dreamer.
Their debut album More Than You Know went on to generate more than five billion streams, further cementing Axwell’s status as one of electronic music’s biggest names.
He has also appeared on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs list nine times and has won four DJ Awards.
With Axwell taking over the stage on Saturday and Martin Garrix closing out the weekend on Sunday, the 2026 Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia is shaping up to be more than simply a motorsport spectacle.
