Kasma and Azroy Share the Spoils in MSBK1000 A Battles at Sepang

Sepang, Malaysia – Round 3 of the 2025 AEON CREDIT MAM Malaysia Superbike Championship (MSBK) delivered thrilling action in the MSBK1000 A category at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit, with Kasma Daniel Kasmayudin and Azroy Hakeem Anuar splitting victories across two dramatic races.

Race 1 – Kasma Untouchable in the Wet

In damp and tricky conditions, HONG LEONG YAMAHA MALAYSIA’s Kasma Daniel put on a masterclass, storming to a commanding victory. Launching from the start, Kasma quickly built a gap as rivals battled behind him.

By Lap 3, he had already carved out nearly five seconds of breathing room, leaving Andi Farid Izdihar (ASTRA Honda Racing), Azroy Hakeem Anuar (Honda Racing Malaysia), Adam Norrodin (AMI Suzuki Motorsport), and Lachlan Epis (Savitar Team Asia) in a fierce contest for the remaining podium spots.

Kasma controlled the race perfectly, crossing the line in 24’09.017s, more than two seconds ahead of Andi. Azroy secured a solitary third, 12 seconds further back.

Reflecting on the win, Kasma said:
“In rainy conditions, it really depends on luck. I just focused on my riding and preserving my tyres as the track dried. The wear was tough to manage, but I stayed in control.”

Race 2 – Azroy Strikes Back in a Thriller

If Race 1 was about dominance, Race 2 was all about resilience and nerves of steel. Honda Racing Malaysia’s Azroy Hakeem Anuar fended off relentless attacks from Kasma to claim a stunning victory in scorching conditions.

Azroy grabbed the holeshot, but Kasma stayed glued to his rear wheel, launching attack after attack. Behind them, Muhammad Zaqhwan Zaidi (Honda Racing Malaysia) and Adam Norrodin traded places for third, while Andi Farid briefly threatened with the fastest lap of the race at 2’07.588s.

The drama peaked on the final lap when Kasma launched multiple overtakes, but Azroy held firm, crossing the finish in 21’23.822s, just 0.443s ahead of Kasma. Zaqhwan completed the podium in third, keeping Honda’s double-podium intact.

Azroy credited his team after the hard-fought win:
“The conditions were extremely hot, which suited me, but I couldn’t quite find the lap times I wanted. Still, I’m thankful to my team, and we’ll push to carry this momentum into the ARRC Round 5 here at Sepang.”

With both riders showcasing contrasting strengths, the MSBK1000 A title battle promises even more fireworks as the season heads toward its next rounds.
