Malaysia’s electric vehicle market continues to gain momentum, and iCAUR Malaysia is reinforcing its ambitions with the local assembly of the popular V23. The brand has officially begun Completely Knocked Down (CKD) production of the iCAUR V23, with showroom arrivals expected by the end of July.
The move comes at a significant time for the fast-growing EV brand, which has emerged as one of Malaysia’s Top 3 battery electric vehicle (BEV) brands during the first half of 2026. By localising production, iCAUR aims to strengthen supply stability, improve responsiveness to customer demand, and further cement its position in the increasingly competitive EV landscape.
Importantly for buyers, the locally assembled iCAUR V23 iWD retains the same specifications, features, and quality standards as the fully imported CBU model. Even better, the CKD transition comes without a price increase, with the V23 continuing to retail at RM132,780.
According to Francis Chin, Senior Director of iCAUR Malaysia, the CKD programme represents more than just a manufacturing milestone.
“For us, CKD is not just a production milestone. It is a market commitment. The V23 has shown that Malaysian buyers are ready for EVs with personality, and local assembly allows us to respond to that demand with greater agility, stronger supply confidence and a product that remains accessible without losing its character.”
One of the V23’s biggest strengths remains its distinctive styling. The EV’s Boxy Retro Classic design has resonated strongly with Malaysian consumers looking for something different from the sea of conventional electric crossovers. Its rugged proportions, retro-inspired cues, and modern EV technology combine to create a vehicle that appeals to both lifestyle-oriented buyers and early adopters seeking individuality.
The start of local assembly also signals iCAUR Malaysia’s longer-term commitment to the market. Beyond improving production flexibility, CKD operations often pave the way for greater localisation efforts and stronger aftersales support, factors that continue to influence purchasing decisions among EV buyers.
With deliveries expected to begin soon, prospective customers can visit authorised iCAUR dealerships nationwide by the end of July to experience the locally assembled V23 firsthand and book a test drive.
