The recent Covid-19 global pandemic has hurt the pocket of most consumers and everyone is looking for a great deal these days. Fret not, let me introduce you to an economical buffet lunch in a 4-star hotel in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Kampung Kitchen Restaurant, located on the 10th floor of IBIS Kuala Lumpur, a relatively new 4-star hotel located within walking distance to the famed Petronas Twin Towers has launched their new weekday buffet lunch at only RM 29.80 nett per person.
The new buffet lunch adheres to the new post Covid-19 precautionary measures SOP and is the first buffet lunch I enjoy since the start of MCO in March 18, 2020.
All guests are required have their temperature scanned, sanitized and signed-in before allowed to enter into the dining hall. Tables are distanced and cutleries are personally given to the diners instead of being set on the table as before.
The environment is comfortable here at the hotel, with a lovely view of downtown Kuala Lumpur. The big windows brings in lots of natural lighting to the dining hall.
The buffet line is setup, with wait-staff ready to serve your choice of selection while diners are kept at a distance to the buffet spread as to minimize human contact to the buffet spread.
For food wise, diners will get pick from a selections of buns and rolls with the soup of the day (which was cream of chicken when I went). There is also porridge with condiments for those who likes to go Asian.
A salad station is next, but frankly speaking I am not too big a salad fan so usually I give it a pass.
The main course is mainly Asian, with rice and noodles options, and with more than dozen of main dishes from shell-fish to fish, various style of chicken to vegetables and tofu.
There is also the Malaysian favorite, a nasi lemak station at the end of the counter. Oo .. the sambal is so spicyliciously delicious.
Dessert wise, you can pick from the various Asian cakes and western puddings as well as seasonal tropical fruits. There is also the kampung-style bubur kacang merah.
For drinks, there are options of bandung and iced-water as well as freshly brewed coffees choices such as the long black, cappuccino and latte.
Overall, I would say it is a fairly good promotion, taking into consideration their price point of just RM 29.80, choices, quality and taste of food and drinks location right in downtown Kuala Lumpur.
Oh, for now their parking is also complimentary for room guests and diners at the hotel.
This promotion will run on weekdays – Monday to Friday from 12pm to 2:30pm at RM 29.80 for adults, 40% discounts for children under 12 while senior citizens receives a 10% discount. For reservations, you can contact them at +60327783388 or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org
