Sepang – Avila Bahar and Putra Adam achieved sweet success in the third round of the 2024 Malaysia Championship Series. The Honda Racing Malaysia duo ended the race at the podium at the end of Race 1.
The third round of MCS 2024 was held at the Sepang International Circuit from the 9th – 11th of August 2024. Avila and Adam, who were trying to pay off their bad results in the second round, put up a good showing during the qualifying session. In qualifying, Friday 9th Aug 2024, Avila and Adam won pole position. So Avila started the race at the front of a total of 55 cars for that race. They managed to maintain that position from the start until the end of the first race which was held on Saturday 10th Aug 2024. “Thank God, everything went smoothly in the first race so we could get back on track,” said Avila
Meanwhile motorsport athelete Leona Chin alongside her co-driver Mark Chew of the Castrol Racing Team also delivered a stellar performance and secured a podium finish.
The team was competing in the SP2-V category with their Suzuki Swift securing a hard fought second place demonstrating their exceptional driving and strategic prowess.
Leona said that the Podium finish highlights the Castrol Racing Team’s competitive edge and sets a strong precedence as the prepare for the upcoming MCS 300 km endurance race scheduled for 6th -8th September 2024.
However, for Race 2 the weather proved to be too much as it rained heavily for the entirety of the race which resulted in the race to be cancelled due due to unsafe track conditions. As such, points were calculated as half of the Race 2 total points.
