Located just about 5 minutes drive from the heart of town, the PB Grand Hotel is a nice, clean, comfortable and affordable hotel here in Hatyai. Our team recently had a chance to stay in this relatively new hotel recently during our drive back from Krabi and I would say we had a good stay and rest here.
Parking at PB Grand Hotel is ample and comes with overnight security. The lobby can be accessed from the main road or from the parking and is very impressive for a 3-star budget hotel. The dual volume lobby area makes its look spacious and grand. The front office staff are courteous and friendly and check in is a breeze with a 200 baht room deposit.
The rooms are spacious – we had the 20 sqm Superior Double room (but it surely feels a lot bigger than 20 sqm0 which comes with a nice comfortable double bed, a small dining table for two, and a work / vanity bench with a large flat screen TV. The rooms are bright and cheerful with the walls painted in striking happy colors like pink or purple (maybe there are other colors too).
The room has a lot of mirrors which makes the room even more spacious than it is. Complimentary WIFI is easy to connect and fast in the room. The rooms also comes with electric kettle, hair dryer and two bottles of complimentary drinking water.
The bathroom is clean, bright but basic. It does come with a full set of toiletries and has a separate shower stall with curtains (I would have preferred it to be shower door to ensure the water stays in the stall but there is a step down so water did pretty much remains in).
The hotel location is good and easily within reach of many food places. There is a famous BBQ buffet place across the street from the hotel as well as a number of halal food stalls nearby. 7-Eleven is just around the corner, maybe 5 minutes walk. We had our dinner at a stall just about a couple of minutes walk away and the halal food there was marvelous.
I would say for just 690 baht, PB Grand Hotel is a great value for money stay for those who are looking for a clean and comfortable stay in Hatyai. No breakfast is provide but no worries, there are a lot of food outlets nearby to get you going for your day.
