SEPANG — Season 8 of the Toyota GAZOO Racing Malaysia Vios Challenge concluded in dramatic fashion at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit, as two days of intense, season-defining racing crowned three new overall champions across the Super Sporting, Sporting and Rookie classes.
Using the technical 2.609km South Track for the first time, the championship-deciding Round 4 delivered edge-of-the-seat action, surprise race winners and a title fight that went down to the very final race of the season.

Dark Horses Shake Up the Title Race on Day One
With RM300,000 in prize money at stake, the opening race of the weekend set the tone as several dark horses upset championship favourites and left the title battles wide open.
In the Super Sporting Class, Laser Motor Racing’s Ady Rahimy converted pole position into a commanding Race 1 victory, leading from start to finish despite a late safety car that erased his advantage. He finished ahead of Toyotsu Racing’s William Ho, with Amer Harris (KMS 333 Motorsports) completing the podium. While Rahimy was no longer in championship contention, the win proved crucial in securing his eventual third-place overall finish.
Meanwhile, title rivals Freddie Ang (Telagamas Toyota) and Mitchell Cheah (Team Prima Pearl SP Selatan) finished fifth and seventh respectively, keeping the championship fight finely balanced heading into the final race.
The Sporting Class saw teenager Adam Mikail (G-Mart Motorsport) produce a standout drive to win Race 1 after a tense battle at the front, while championship leader Jwan Hii finished fourth — enough to keep his title ambitions firmly on track.
In the Rookie Class, Harkiesh Geeva stole the spotlight by winning Race 1 ahead of Justin Rahul Dev and Aydan Khaliq, reopening a title fight that now involved four drivers going into the decisive race.
Freddie Ang Clinches Elusive Super Sporting Title
The championship picture became clear on Day Two, as consistency, strategy and composure proved decisive.
After starting the final round eight points behind Cheah, Freddie Ang delivered when it mattered most. A fifth-place finish in Race 1 set him up perfectly for Race 2’s reverse-grid format, where he started five positions ahead of his main rival. Ang seized the opportunity, driving a controlled race to victory while Cheah finished eighth, sealing Ang’s first-ever Super Sporting championship after eight seasons in the series.
Ang ended the season with 163 points, 13 clear of Cheah, and collected RM80,000 in prize money.
Jwan Hii and Justin Rahul Dev Claim Sporting and Rookie Crowns
In the Sporting Class, Jwan Hii (Hong Huat X Armada KK Racing) capped an impressive comeback season by securing the overall title with two fourth-place finishes across the final round. The former Rookie Class graduate finished the season on 167 points, 47 ahead of runner-up Dato’ Dr Ken Foo, earning promotion to the Super Sporting Class for Season 9.
The Rookie Class title went to Justin Rahul Dev, who emerged victorious from one of the closest title battles of the season. With four drivers in contention heading into the finale, Rahul Dev’s consistency and pace paid off as he secured the championship and now sets his sights on moving up to the Sporting Class next season.
A Fitting Finale to a Fiercely Competitive Season
Season 8 once again underlined the competitiveness of the Vios Challenge, where racecraft and driver development take centre stage. From seasoned veterans finally achieving championship glory to young talents making their mark, the 2025 season delivered compelling storylines across every class.
With three new champions crowned and a new generation of drivers ready to step up, the Toyota GAZOO Racing Malaysia Vios Challenge heads into Season 9 with momentum firmly on its side.
