KUALA LUMPUR – After three successful editions from 2023 to 2025 that helped reignite Malaysia’s passion for Japanese automotive culture, Element X Strategies has announced that it will no longer serve as the official organiser of Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur.
The company confirmed that it has chosen not to renew its licensing agreement, bringing to a close a chapter that saw the event grow into one of Malaysia’s most anticipated automotive showcases.
Taking over the event’s stewardship in the post-pandemic era, Element X Strategies played a pivotal role in reviving the country’s JDM and custom car scene at a time when enthusiasts were eager to reconnect with the automotive community. Over the past three years, Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur evolved into more than just a motor show, becoming a celebration of automotive passion that united enthusiasts, builders, creators, industry players and fans from across the region.
According to Element X Strategies, the decision was made as part of the company’s evolving vision and ambition to explore new opportunities that push the boundaries of automotive events and experiences.
While stepping away from Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur, the company emphasised that its journey in the automotive event space is far from over. Instead, it is preparing to launch an all-new flagship automotive experience that promises to be larger, bolder and more immersive than anything it has previously organised.
The upcoming event is set to move beyond the traditional motor show format by combining automotive culture with entertainment, lifestyle, innovation and interactive experiences under one roof. Organisers also hinted that many of the crowd-favourite elements from the past three years—including world-class custom builds, international showcases and exciting attractions—will make a return in an even bigger way.
Element X Strategies also expressed its gratitude to the partners, exhibitors, sponsors, media, volunteers and visitors who supported Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur throughout its three-year run.
As one chapter closes, another is already taking shape.
