eRacing GP Brings Endurance Racing to the Virtual World with 12 Hours of Spa

KUALA LUMPUR – Sim racing in Asia takes another major step forward this weekend as eRacing GP hosts its flagship endurance event, the 12 Hours of Spa, bringing together more than 30 teams from across the region for one of the toughest virtual endurance races on the calendar.

Held on the legendary Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, the event on 18 July will see competitors battle through 12 hours of uninterrupted racing, where outright speed alone won’t guarantee victory. Teams must combine racecraft, strategy, tyre management, fuel calculations and flawless driver changes while tackling one of motorsport’s most demanding circuits, featuring iconic corners such as Eau Rouge, Raidillon and Blanchimont.

Drawing competitors from at least five countries, the race has quickly established itself as one of eRacing GP’s premier special events, reflecting the rapid growth of competitive sim racing across Asia.

Adding further prestige to the event is the support of Royal Selangor, whose specially commissioned trophies will reward the winners of one of the championship’s most challenging races.

“Royal Selangor’s partnership with eRacing GP reflects the shared values between traditional craftsmanship and modern motorsport, where dedication, attention to detail and relentless pursuit of perfection define success,” said Hilda Razali, Head of Global Marketing, Royal Selangor International.

The event will feature three competitive categories comprising Hypercars (GTP), LMP2 and GT3, creating multiple battles throughout the field as professional esports competitors and aspiring sim racers compete together.

The Hypercar class features the latest generation of endurance prototypes including the BMW M Hybrid V8, Cadillac V-Series.R, Ferrari 499P and Porsche 963, while the Dallara P217 will contest the LMP2 category. GT3 competitors can choose from six of today’s most competitive GT machines, including entries from BMW, Chevrolet Corvette, Ferrari, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche.

According to Alex Yoong, Founder of eRacing GP, endurance racing represents the purest test of motorsport.

“Endurance racing represents the ultimate challenge in motorsport. Events like these are designed to reward not only outright pace, but also teamwork, preparation and resilience. It is an event that captures the essence of endurance competition while giving sim racers the opportunity to compete with some of the best in Asia,” he said.

Several high-profile names will be on the grid when the race begins at 11.00am on Saturday.

Singapore’s leading sim racer Aleef Hamilton will partner Malaysia’s Alister Yoong, while defending Endurance Edition champions Apex Racing Brunei return to defend their reputation. Thailand’s OVERME.team fields a strong lineup led by Thanprasit Sartsuk, while Malaysia’s Pepega Racing enters three teams featuring former Toyota GAZOO Racing Rookie drivers Justin Rahul Dev and Genevieve Ooi, who will also be the only female competitor on the grid.

The race will be streamed live across eRacing GP’s official social media channels, allowing fans throughout the region to follow every strategic battle, overtaking move and late-race drama.

As sim racing continues to blur the lines between virtual and real-world motorsport, the 12 Hours of Spa further strengthens eRacing GP’s commitment to delivering professionally organised, internationally recognised endurance competition that showcases both emerging talent and experienced virtual racers on one of motorsport’s greatest stages.
