ART OF SPEED 2026 SETS A NEW BENCHMARK FOR MALAYSIA’S KUSTOM KULTURE SCENE

SERDANG – The 15th edition of Art of Speed Malaysia (AOS 2026) delivered its biggest and most immersive celebration yet, transforming the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) into the region’s ultimate gathering for custom automotive culture, live entertainment, art, and lifestyle over the weekend of 1–2 August.

Embracing the theme “Summer Festival – Kustom Bergaya,” this year’s festival elevated the visitor experience by combining world-class custom vehicles, international builders, exclusive product launches, music festivals, lifestyle attractions and family-friendly activities under one roof.

Thousands of enthusiasts from Malaysia and overseas converged at MAEPS to witness one of Southeast Asia’s most influential automotive lifestyle festivals. The expanded Summer Festival concept reinforced Art of Speed’s position as Malaysia’s premier Kustom Kulture event while showcasing the country’s growing influence within the global custom scene.

International Icons Gather in Malaysia

AOS 2026 welcomed an impressive roster of international guests, including representatives from MOONEYES, Liberty Walk, Hawgholic, Vise Clothing, DicE Magazine, Hot Wheels Premium, Banzai Racing, and numerous builders and artists from Japan, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, the Philippines and Brunei.

Among the highlights was Liberty Walk’s appearance alongside an exhibition of rare custom cars and motorcycles from across Asia, including a rare 1945 Harley-Davidson Knucklehead and a 1966 Harley-Davidson Shovelhead from Japan.

More Than Just Cars and Bikes

Beyond custom vehicles, SoundCircus Festival returned bigger than ever with six performance stages featuring Ella x Cokelat, Sheila Majid, Nadin Amizah, Hujan’s 20th anniversary celebration and many more.

One of the festival’s biggest talking points was Asia’s first Flying Fox across a live concert audience, giving festival-goers a unique aerial view of the performances.

Hot Wheels, Builders and Exclusive Collectibles

Collectors were treated to the fourth Official Hot Wheels Collectors Convention Malaysia, highlighted by the launch of the exclusive HWCCM 2026 Custom Nissan Skyline GT-R V·Spec II (BNR34), complete with official Nissan licensing and unique serial numbering. Hot Wheels Premium Lead Product Designer Ronald Wong also made a special appearance during the convention.

Meanwhile, the Art of Speed Invitational Bike Build-Off crowned Mujo Joros as both the Overall Jury Winner and Public Choice Winner with its GPX Gentleman 200 custom build.

Tourism, Creativity and Community

Tourism Selangor also launched Tourscape @ Selangor, encouraging visitors to discover all 12 districts of Selangor through curated motoring routes that combine automotive passion with tourism, culture and gastronomy. The initiative was officially launched by Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari alongside Tourism Selangor officials.

Festival Director Asep Ahmad Iskandar credited the event’s continued growth to years of cultivating international partnerships while remaining committed to supporting Malaysia’s local custom builders and artists.

According to Asep, Art of Speed has evolved beyond a festival into an international platform connecting builders, brands, artists and enthusiasts from around the world while positioning Malaysia as one of Southeast Asia’s leading Kustom Kulture destinations.

Celebrating the Best

The coveted Best of Show Automobile title went to Shaun Jonathan Pinto and his stunning 1957 Porsche 356 Speedster Replica, earning a trip to Japan’s prestigious MOONEYES Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show 2026.

The Best of Show Motorcycle honour was awarded to The Bangkok Boys, recognising outstanding craftsmanship and creativity in custom motorcycle building.

With international participation continuing to grow, expanded entertainment offerings and stronger collaborations across automotive, lifestyle and creative industries, Art of Speed 2026 has once again demonstrated why it remains the region’s benchmark for Kustom Kulture festivals.
