80% of tickets sold as Malaysian rider prepares to compete before home fans; Tiket Rahmah tickets remain available from RM49.90
Kuala Lumpur – Malaysian motorsports fans will have another reason to flock to the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit (SIC) as the PETRONAS Grand Prix of Malaysia 2026 returns from 30 October to 1 November, headlined by Hakim Danish’s home Grand Prix debut as a Moto3™ World Championship rider.
The 2026 edition carries added significance as Malaysia marks 35 years of involvement in the MotoGP™ World Championship, dating back to 1991. Sepang has hosted the Malaysian round since 1999, establishing the event as a major fixture on the international motorsports calendar and a key contributor to Malaysia’s sports tourism industry.
The anticipation surrounding this year’s race has already translated into strong ticket demand, with 80% of tickets sold. Both the Premier Seat and Hakim Danish Tribune categories are sold out, reflecting the excitement surrounding the young Malaysian rider’s emergence on the world stage.
SIC Chief Executive Officer Azhan Shafriman Hanif said the event attracted 190,977 spectators in 2025, demonstrating continued support from local and international fans.

He added that Hakim Danish’s historic Moto3™ victory and maiden World Championship podium have given Malaysian supporters an additional reason to attend the race and cheer for a homegrown talent.
SIC is aiming to deliver an unforgettable home-race atmosphere while continuing to improve the spectator experience, nurture local motorsports talent and strengthen its sustainability initiatives.
Three Days of Racing and Fan Experiences
Beyond the on-track competition, MotoGP Malaysia 2026 will feature a programme of activities designed to bring fans closer to the riders and the sport.
Highlights include the Public Pit Lane Walk and Autograph Session, Night Track Tour, Moto2™ and Moto3™ Hero Walk, MotoGP™ Hero Walk and Grid Walk.
The MotoGP Fan Zone will also host performances by school and university students, alongside music, entertainment and interactive experiences throughout the three-day event.
Selected ticket categories will additionally offer fans the chance to win motorcycles from Aprilia, Lambretta and Kedai Motor Sam Lim.
Affordable Access for Malaysian Fans
Youth and Sports Minister YB Dr Mohammed Taufiq Johari said MotoGP Malaysia remains a source of national pride, supporting tourism, creating economic opportunities and inspiring young Malaysians to pursue motorsports.

He reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to developing the next generation of Malaysian racing talent through initiatives including Tiket Rahmah and the Malaysian Motorsport Development Ecosystem (MDEV).
Under the Malaysia MADANI agenda, Tiket Rahmah tickets remain available at RM49.90 for the K2 Hillstand, providing a more affordable way for families, young people and motorsports enthusiasts to experience the championship live.
Sustainability Takes Centre Stage
Sustainability will remain a key focus for the 2026 event, with SIC entering into a Memorandum of Understanding with the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Corporation (SWCorp) to promote systematic waste management and responsible practices.
Initiatives include waste separation at source, Trash to Gift, upcycled tyre art, Composting on Wheels and the Hero Kebersihan volunteer programme, supported by the Respect Our Track campaign.
The collaboration will also support the collection of environmental, social and governance (ESG) impact data, enabling organisers to evaluate progress and identify opportunities for further improvements.
