Good news for shopaholics from across the region ~ ICONSiam, Thailand’s largest mall is set to open in Bangkok in about two weeks time on November 9. Located along the Chao Phraya River in Khlong San next to the Millenium Hilton Bangkok, the ICONSiam is 750,000 sq meters in size and will consist of retail and F&B outlets, a 3-star Michelin Restaurant, an amusement park, a heritage museum, South East Asia’s longest fountain show, a 3,000-seat auditorium, an indoor floating market and two of the tallest and iconic luxury residence towers.
The ICONSiam will also feature Thailand’s first-ever Takashimaya, the leading Japanese departmental stores which will occupy 35,000 square meters over 7-floors and sells over 500 brands, of which 180 are well-known Japanese brands and about half of which are first time debut in Thailand. The mall will also houses the largest Apple Store in Thailand, the largest Adidas Original Store in Asia, and the first JD Sports Store in Thailand.
The River Park is a 10,000 square meter community park along the Chao Phraya River opened to the public to experience the country main river as well as to watch South East Asia’s longest fountain show.
For those who are looking for the uber luxury brands, ICONLuxe, a three-storey building on the Chao Phraya Riverbank will be the place to be as it brings together the world’s leading brand names, featuring their flagship stores in Thailand. The ICONLuxe will also feature a 5,000 square meter food zone and a rooftop sky garden for the most amazing view of the Chao Phraya River.
The highlight of the ICONSiam will be the Sook Siam where it gathers together arts and culinary arts from all the provinces in Thailand into a 15,000 square meter area, allowing locals and tourists to “tour” the whole of Thailand within one-day. The Sook Siam will become the platform for Thai artists from across the country to exhibit their work and one of the highlight piece will be the “Gate of Siam City”, a giant hand-carved wooden door designed by Amirrit Chusuwan that measures 7.6 meter high, 2.5 meter wide. The Sook Siam will be Thailand’s showcase to the world.
I believe the ICONSiam will definitely be the star attraction in Bangkok for many years to come and gives shoppers from across the region another reason to visit Bangkok.
