ANSA Hotel – Great hotel in the heart of Kuala Lumpur

If you are planning for a shopping trip to Kuala Lumpur but do not want to spend too much on good clean accommodation, let me introduce to you this hotel called Ansa Hotel Bukit Bintang.

I was looking around for hotels in the shopping hub of Bukit Bintang recently and came across this boutique, but somewhat unknown hotel called Ansa Hotel Bukit Bintang (formerly Piccolo Hotel), so I decided to give it a try. Booked myself into a very spacious family room for a two-night stay since I wanted to explore the area.

The location of the hotel is simply amazing. It is located between Lot 10 and Fahrenheit and just minutes away from the Bukit Bintang MRT station and the Monorail station. The Ansa Walk is located right in front of the hotel and gives you plenty of dining and convenient store shopping options.

There is also a Starbucks located on the lobby floor of the hotel where stay-in guests could opt to have their breakfast at (with a RM20 voucher) if they decided against the vegetarian bento.

The hotel does not have any in-house dining outlets or facilities, but I guess when you are staying in the middle of the shopping hub of Kuala Lumpur, you won’t actually have much time to spend in the hotel.

My family room is spacious, I would say easily 50 sqm and above, and comes with a king-size bed and a sofa bed. The room also has a small table and chair as well as a working table and a large smart TV.

The bath comes with a powerful standing shower and a separate WC which I felt was good, especially if you have a few family members staying together.

If you are driving to the hotel, the is a small parking garage located in the basement and they also do have a drive-in car lift system (I did not try this option as there were plenty of parking bays available in the basement).

Check in and out was simple and fast, few basic information to fill up and I asked for one vegetarian nasi lemak bento for one of the mornings and a Starbucks breakfast for the other. Overall, I felt the vegetarian nasi lemak bento was more value for money, good portion, with pastry and fruits as well as a bottle of juice. I am also surprised at the overall taste of the vegetarian bento as I am not very much a vegetable lover.

For Starbucks, the RM20 voucher could only be used for normal priced items and not valid for their breakfast sets so if I were to stay at this hotel again, I would definitely go for the vegetarian bento.

In conclusion, I would say this is an ideal hotel for those coming to Kuala Lumpur for shopping and to explore the city center. The location is amazing, and it is priced just below RM300. The room is clean and comfortable with a team of friendly staff. Public transport accessibility is also fabulous and there are plenty of great dining spots within minutes of walk.
