The Smart Hotel is located right beside Makro – the big wholesale store and opposite of the largest shopping center in Southern Thailand – the Central Festival as you arrive into the city from the South.
Having a great location is one of the plus point of The Smart Hotel. Easily within walking distance to Makro (5 min) and Central Festival (5 min), as well as the two popular night markets – ASEAN and Greenway, The Smart Hotel makes its a smart choice for shoppers coming into the city.
I had a chance to check out their 24 sqm Superior room on my recent 3D2N trip to Hatyai and I would say it would be a smart choice especially for shoppers as it is within good distance to the main shopping spots in Hatyai.
Check in was swift as the staff were courteous and fluent in English. Once you have your key card, you are off to your room. The hotel comes with one key-card access lift.
The modern design room is bright, clean and spacious I had the king size bed option which was really comfortable and comes with two fully pillows and two more throw pillows. I love pillows 🙂
The room also comes with a mini bar and free bottles of drinking water. It also has the work desk and a wall mounted LED TV. Nowadays you find budget hotels cutting back on mini bars and it is nice to find one in this hotel
The attached bathroom I felt could have been improved by having separated shower stall but I guess to keep the room spacious, the bathroom has to be slightly smaller, thus making it not possible to have a separated shower stall.
Breakfast is optional but i went for it anyways .. the buffet breakfast has a combination of Asian and Western items, sufficient to give your day a good start.
However do note some days (I guess when they have low occupancy, they will revert to doing ala-carte breakfast) – which happened on my second day. This is what I had then 🙂 Equally delicious but only one order per person.
I paid like about RM 120 per night for this hotel and I think at that price, it is not too bad an option. Location is good (unless you don’t drive and prefer right in the Lee Garden area). I would suggest this hotel to shoppers who drives into Hatyai who are looking for a comfortable place to sleep at an affordable price.
