Blacked-out. Sharper. More confident than ever.
PROTON turned heads at Penang Autoshow 2026 by bringing its biggest stars together under one stealth-inspired showcase — proving the national automaker is no longer just building cars, but building an ownership ecosystem for every Malaysian lifestyle.
The all-black presentation gave the Proton X50, X70, X90 and S70 a far more aggressive road presence, transforming the familiar line-up into something that felt premium, sporty and distinctly modern.

Leading the charge was the Proton X50 — still reigning as the “King of SUVs” — while the Proton X90 reinforced its appeal as the go-to seven-seater for large families. The Proton S70 continued flying the flag for sporty sedan fans, while the X70 Sport Edition added extra attitude with exclusive blacked-out detailing and signature red accents.
And then there’s the Proton Saga — still carrying the torch as Malaysia’s everyday hero. Affordable, reliable and easy to live with, it remains the car that introduced generations of Malaysians to vehicle ownership.
But the real glimpse into PROTON’s future sat beneath the surface.
For the first time in the Northern region, PROTON showcased its advanced EEA platform — the digital backbone set to power smarter, safer and more connected future models. Together with ACOTECH’s Intelligent Head Unit featuring Bahasa Malaysia voice recognition, the brand is steadily evolving into a more tech-focused mobility player.
The numbers back up the momentum too. With over 49,000 vehicles sold in Q1 2026 and its strongest market share in more than two decades, PROTON’s resurgence is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore.
At Penang Autoshow 2026, the message was loud and clear:
PROTON isn’t just chasing sales anymore — it’s chasing relevance in every stage of Malaysian life.
