SEPANG – The Malaysia Touring Car Championship (MTCC) delivered another spectacular chapter in Malaysian motorsport as Round 3’s headline 300KM Endurance Race pushed drivers, teams and machines to their limits at the PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit.
The endurance race, brought forward in this year’s championship calendar, tested far more than outright speed. Strategy, consistency, pit stop execution and reliability proved to be the deciding factors as competitors battled across multiple classes in one of the season’s most demanding races.
Honda Malaysia Racing Team emerged as the dominant force in the premier MT1600 MTC category, securing a commanding one-two finish. Car No. 27 driven by Avila Bahar and Aaron Lim steered their Honda FE to victory after a flawless endurance performance, while teammates Lai Wee Seng and Mohamed Farriz completed the Honda sweep in second place aboard Car No. 26.
Rounding out the podium was Papaya Pay’s pairing of Faidzal Alang and Hendra Ade Putra in their Honda FK7, underlining the competitive depth of the championship.
The MT2G category saw Bae Racing’s Soon Chew Poh and Ng Wui Leng claim victory in their Honda GK, ahead of Jonathan Xie and Quek Kian Wee, with Ng Chong Chin and Freddie Ang from Sokudo x Ultra Racing Team completing the podium.
In the MT2V category, DV Motorsports celebrated victory through Perajun Khrishnan and Breandan Paul Anthony aboard their Suzuki Swift. Kuraz Motorsports pair Mark Chew Shin and Kenny Chan Wai finished second, while Axwerk’s Lee Chee Wah and Lester Lian Jia Wei secured third.
The MT2000 race was equally captivating, with Jonathan Xie showcasing impressive pace and consistency to secure overall honours in the TP category driving his Volkswagen GTI.
Second place went to R-Engineering’s Leon Khoo and Lai Wee Seng in the Honda Civic FL5, while Papaya Pay’s Arif Hanafiah and Faidzal Alang rounded out the podium aboard their Mercedes-AMG A45.
R-Engineering continued its strong weekend in the TP2 category, with Lim Junji and Lim Yuhan taking victory in their Toyota GR86 ahead of teammate Chiow Teck Song.
Meanwhile, Genevieve Henrietta added another accolade to her growing motorsport résumé by winning the Ladies Cup, further highlighting the increasing competitiveness and diversity within Malaysian touring car racing.
The 300KM endurance format once again demonstrated why it remains one of MTCC’s marquee events, demanding perfect teamwork, mechanical reliability and strategic execution over outright speed.
With valuable championship points now awarded, attention shifts towards the remaining rounds as teams continue their pursuit of the 2026 Malaysia Touring Car Championship titles.
