Sepang – SILVER STEED RACING TEAM’s He Junpeng enters Round 3 of the MAM Malaysia
Superbike Championship 2026 at PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit this
weekend, looking to build on his explosive debut in the MSBK1000 B category.
Having started his 2026 campaign in the MSBK600 category, Junpeng made a bold
mid-season transition to the 1000cc division in Round 2. The move yielded instant
success when he turned heads by claiming an impressive 3rd place finish in Race 1.
Reflecting on the technical transition to the more powerful machine, Junpeng said,
“Adapting to the 1000cc machine requires a completely different approach. You rely
much more on rear brake assistance during corner entry and exit, and the key is
picking the bike up straight as early as possible on exit to put the power down.”
“The machine shakes, lifts the front wheel, and slides far more aggressively than a
600cc bike. Mastering that raw power while maintaining consistent long-race pace
and stability is our biggest hurdle.”
Junpeng’s mid-season switch was a strategic decision by SILVER STEED RACING TEAM
to accelerate his racecraft and rider development.
“Moving up to the 1000cc class is all about learning and building experience.
Managing the extreme power, braking zones, and physical demands will ultimately
make me a sharper, stronger rider.”
“In Race 1, doing our homework paid off with a debut podium, which was incredible
for the team. Race 2 ended in a crash, but the team did an amazing job, swapping in
a brand-new frame, rebuilding the engine, and updating our data analytics to get us
fully prepared.”
Heading into Round 3, Junpeng is fully focused on executing his key targets at
PETRONAS Sepang International Circuit.
“Our goals for this category are, we want to claim the top spot in Group B, break into
the sub-2’16 lap times, and eventually earn a promotion to Group A. For this
weekend, we will go all-out and bring home another podium for the team.”
