The roadtrippers.asia team recently had the opportunity to visit the Royale Chulan Seremban (previously known as Royale Bintang Seremban) with Miss CosmoWorld 2017 – Miss Natthapat Pongpraphan from Thailand and was definitely greeted with the Minangkabau hospitality famous for warmth and cultural heritage.
Located right across from the green-lungs of Seremban’s Lake Garden, the 4-star Royale Chulan Seremban stands majestically overlooking the city skyline offering utmost comfort and tranquility for business and leisure travelers alike.
Check-in for the hotel is simple at its grand lobby. The registration took us less than 5 minutes and we’re off to our rooms. We had a few rooms, some of us were in the Superior smoking rooms while some were in the Deluxe non-smoking rooms. We also had a tour of the hotel’s Duplex Suite Room as well as the Singgahsana Suite.
The 345 well appointed rooms are in contemporary design with hints of Malay heritage with rooms in eight classifications – Superior (smoking rooms), Deluxe (non-smoking rooms), Executive Deluxe, Executive Suites, Alcove Suites, Duplex Suites, Duta Suites and the Royale Singgahsana Suite. All the rooms comes with free WIFI internet services, stocked mini-bar, and a sunken bath-tub.
The Superior and Deluxe rooms are 35 sqm in size, very spacious and comfortable in earth tones. Guests have options of two twin beds or one large king bed. It also comes with a luxurious bathroom with separated shower stall.
The Superior rooms are located on the lower floors and are all smoking rooms while the Deluxe are on the higher floors and non-smoking. There are two view options – the Lake Garden view or the beautifully landscaped pool-view and I got the lovely Lake Garden view with an amazing sunset daily.
The superior and deluxe rooms also come with a large work desk as well as a relaxing armchair with foot-stool. Toiletries are well stocked as for any 4-star hotels and the room also comes with plush bathrobes, room slippers, hair-dryer, iron and ironing board, as well as daily newspaper.
Apart from the Superior and Deluxe rooms, we also had the opportunity to experience the 104 sqm Duplex Suite. This double-storey suite is also known as the honeymoon suite has a living area, small dining area, pantry and a guest restroom on the main floor. Through a grand staircase up, guest will find the bedroom which comes with a super king-bed an attached bathroom.
Unlike the Superior and Deluxe room, the Grand Duplex Suites comes with hardwood flooring at the main area while plush royal blue carpeting is found at the upper floor where the bedroom is located at.
The pinnacle category of room at Royale Chulan Seremban is the 261 sqm Royale Singgahsana Suite where it is usually reserved only for the royalties, or ministers or some celebrities that comes into town. This 2-bedroom suite is amazingly huge and command a beautiful view of the swimming pool.
As you walk into the Suite, you will find the first suite within a suite, with its very own living hall, bedroom and a huge bathroom.
After the room, you will come around a large dual-volume living hall with a connected dining area for ten or more people and a large kitchen space that can easily be used to prepare food for a large party.
From the living hall, you are connected to the master bedroom which is attached with an oversize white-marble bathroom with a jacuzzi tub for two. The bathroom also have its shower stall, a walk-in closet and a large his and her vanity area.
The spacious bedroom is fitted with super king bed, a three-seater sofa and a work desk overlooking the pool area.
Apart from the well appointed rooms, Royale Chulan Seremban is also famous for its MICE facilities of ballrooms and various eateries outlet as well as the Anjung Lounge for those after-work chills. The Seri Negeri Grand Ballroom can cater up to 1,500 dinner guest with a stage and is ideal for weddings or corporate dinners. The ballroom can also be divided into three equal size rooms to cater to multiple smaller functions. There area also smaller break-out rooms as well as a VIP holding room adjacent to the Grand Ballroom.
For eateries, guests are able to choose from Asiatique where they can enjoy morning buffet breakfast, followed by lunch and dinner buffets. If you feel the buffets are over the board, you can also choose to order from the ala carte menu at Asiatique. We had the opportunity to have the daily buffet breakfast which I would strongly recommend the nasi lemak with its amazing sambal and the daily-changing noodle soup. The charcoal roti-bakar with kaya and butter are also amazing.
For guests who are looking for some premier authentic halal Cantonese cuisine (and dimsum too on weekends), you can head up to Han Pi Yuen.
If you are looking for something light, you can always head over to Sweet Seremban where you can find the freshest choice of breads and pastries in town. This is the ideal place for an afternoon tea with quality cakes and a cup of coffee.
Anjung Lounge is simply the best lounge in the city of Seremban where the who’s who in town will gather to wind down their day. The lounge carries an extensive list of wines and is perfect for business or pleasure.
Guest who are on holiday at Royale Chulan Seremban can rest assured that the hotel is equipped to keep you occupied all day with its various recreational facilities. There is the outdoor swimming pool with slides, waterfall, as well as a heated Jacuzzi, children’s pool, a playground, tennis courts, fitness center, jogging track on the adjacent Lake Gardens, as well as the Royale Spa.
The Royale Spa provides a range of traditional spa and beauty therapies within its two private rooms with attached Jacuzzi or open air rain-shower stall. There is also the general area for feet massages in this beautiful traditional Balinese bungalow setting.
Overall I would say the Royale Chulan Seremban is an ideal hotel both for business travelers as well as holiday goers. The hotel pretty much has a 5-star hotel facilities – be it MICE facilities or recreational facilities, various dining outlets and spacious rooms. There are ample car park facilities on the property and the hotel location is strategic.
