One of the place where you can find good, fresh and affordable seafood in Koh Lanta is definitely along the stretch of shops at Ban Saladan. Lined on both sides of the lane, you will come across dozens of seafood restaurants calling out to you to dine at their outlet.
One of the restaurant that we stopped by and ate while we were there recently was Barracuda Restaurant on the sea side of the road. The midsize rustic looking restaurant is built into the sea, easily can fit about 100 persons, nicely decorated with old classic crockery, clean and have a wonderful view of the sea.
We ordered quite a table full of food – from the usual Pineapple Fried Rice, Seafood Tomyum and Somtum to the more unique Green Curry rolled in Pratha bread, Grilled Barracuda Steak, Thai satay and Live Thermidor Fresh Water Prawn.
Food were all great as with most good Thai restaurant, and if you ask for my three preferences, it would be the Grilled Barracuda Steak as well as the unique Green Curry wrapped in Pratha, which is simple and goes very well together as well as the Live Thermidor Fresh Water Shrimp which is so fresh and tasty.
So if you are in Koh Lanta and is looking for some good affordable seafood, do give Barracuda Restaurant a try.
