KUALA LUMPUR – BYD Sime Motors has refreshed its flagship electric SUV with the launch of the enhanced 2026 BYD SEALION 7, introducing a new Dynamic variant alongside upgraded Premium and Performance models that promise longer driving range, faster charging and improved value for Malaysian buyers.
The biggest addition to the line-up is the new Dynamic variant, positioned as a more accessible entry point into the SEALION 7 family. It joins the Premium and Performance variants, giving buyers three distinct choices depending on their budget and driving needs. The launch reflects BYD’s strategy of making premium electric mobility accessible to a broader segment of Malaysians while improving the ownership experience across the range.
Since making its Malaysian debut in 2024, the BYD SEALION 7 has established itself as the country’s best-selling D-segment electric SUV, with more than 6,300 units delivered nationwide. For 2026, the SUV carries the theme “Pinnacle of Performance, Redefined FURTHER for Tomorrow,” highlighting improvements in range, convenience, accessibility and ownership confidence.
The new Dynamic variant features a 71.8kWh Blade Battery driving the rear wheels, producing 170kW and 380Nm of torque. It offers a claimed driving range of up to 520km (NEDC), accelerates from 0-100km/h in 7.3 seconds and supports DC fast charging of up to 110kW.
Meanwhile, the Premium variant receives one of the most significant upgrades. Battery capacity increases to 91.39kWh, boosting the driving range from 567km to 650km (NEDC). DC charging capability has also increased substantially from 150kW to 230kW, allowing shorter charging stops during long-distance journeys.
Performance enthusiasts are catered for with the AWD Performance model, producing 390kW and 690Nm. It completes the century sprint in just 4.5 seconds while still delivering a claimed range of up to 600km (NEDC). The Performance variant also benefits from the larger battery, 230kW DC charging, larger 20-inch wheels and distinctive red brake calipers.
Pricing starts from RM163,800 for the Dynamic variant, although the first 300 customers can purchase it at a promotional price of RM159,800. The Premium and Performance variants are priced at RM188,800 and RM203,800 respectively, with launch promotions including complimentary wallboxes and overtrade bonuses depending on the variant.
To celebrate the launch, BYD Sime Motors is hosting its “BEYOND YOUR DRIVE” roadshow at 1 Utama Shopping Centre from 30 July to 2 August 2026. Customers booking any BYD model during the event will also receive RM200 worth of charging credits.
